Double-entry Ledger

The books keep themselves.

A real double-entry general ledger — balanced and immutable at the database level — that the rest of Olbongo writes into as business happens.

What it does

Accounting, in practice

A ledger you can trust

Debits equal credits, enforced by the database, not by hope. Posted entries can never be edited, only reversed.

Receivables and payables

Customer invoices and supplier bills, with allocation, part-payment and ageing.

Statements and VAT

Trial balance, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and a VAT return — exportable as PDF.

How it connects

It does not sit on its own

Work done in Accounting shows up wherever it matters, without anyone re-keying it.

Live

Point of Sale

Sales, credit repayments and day-to-day expenses arrive as posted journals, not as a spreadsheet to reconcile later.

Payroll

An approved payroll run posts wages to the P&L and PAYE, NSSF, NHIF and WCF to the balance sheet as liabilities you still owe.

  • Fleet: Vehicle running costs posting straight to the ledger.

Questions

Is this real double-entry, or a summary?

Real double-entry. Every posting is a balanced journal, and the balance rule is enforced by a database trigger — nothing can post that does not balance.

Can I correct a mistake?

By reversing it, the way accountants do. Posted journals are immutable, so the history always shows what actually happened.

Do I need an accountant to use it?

For day-to-day trading, no — the entries write themselves. For year-end and filings, your accountant gets statements they recognise.
